Luxco debuts Blood Oath Pact 7 Bourbon
By Nicola CarruthersAmerican whiskey maker Luxco has expanded its Blood Oath Bourbon range with the launch of an expression finished in Sauternes casks.

Blood Oath Pact 7 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the latest bottling created by Lux Row master distiller John Rempe.
The new expression is a blend of three Kentucky straight Bourbon whiskeys: a 14-year-old, eight-year-old and an eight-year-old finished in Sauternes casks. Sauternes is a sweet white wine from a town in the Bordeaux region of France.
“Finishing in a Sauternes cask brings additional tasting notes and flavour to the Bourbon,” said Rempe. “In the case of Pact 7, expect a nose of caramel, oak and spice with flavour notes of apricots, honey and peaches. The balance of sweetness and spice is what sets this Bourbon apart.”
Luxco unveiled the ultra-premium Blood Oath Bourbon brand in 2015 with the launch of Blood Oath Pact No.1, a blend of Kentucky straight Bourbon whiskeys aged between six to 12 years old.
Available from mid-April, Blood Oath Pact 7 is priced at RRP US$99.99 per 750ml bottle. The expression has a total allocation of 5,100 bottles, 1,400 of which will be held for a future Trilogy Pack release.
Launched in 2018, the inaugural Trilogy Pack featured the first three Blood Oath bottlings. The second trio pack, featuring Pact 4, 5 and 6 whiskeys, will be released later this year.
In January this year, MGP Ingredients agreed to acquire Luxco in a deal valued at US$475 million.
Luxco opened Lux Row Distillers at the start of 2018 following a US$35m investment. The site in Bardstown, Kentucky, is home to Luxco’s Bourbon business.
