TFWA to enhance focus on innovation in Cannes

The Tax Free World Association (TFWA) will replace its Digital Village with a brand new ‘innovation’ concept at the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes later this year.

The TFWA’s Digital Village will be replaced with a new concept

The TFWA Innovation Lab will give exhibitors the opportunity to “showcase new ideas and fresh thinking” to an audience of travel retail professionals.

The concept will move to a new location when the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference returns to Cannes in October.

Located opposite the Majestic Beach in a dedicated exhibition area, the TFWA Innovation Lab will be divided into four different categories: digital solutions and mobile technology; sustainability and CSR; services to travellers; and in-store design and research.

“One of TFWA’s primary goals is to inspire our business and help create an ‘engine of innovation’,” said new TFWA president Alain Maingreaud, who succeeded Erik Juul-Mortensen in the role last year.

“The TFWA Innovation Lab will help our industry to shape the future of duty free and travel retail and better meet the changing needs of the international traveller. With 32 exhibitors and 1,349 visiting delegates last year, the TFWA Digital Village was a significant first step, and we plan to build on this success with a fresh new concept in a new location.

“We look forward to providing visitors to TFWA World Exhibition & Conference with a new perspective on how our industry will develop in the coming years.”

The TFWA Innovation Lab will run from Tuesday 1 October to Friday 4 October.
