The Scotch distillery in Perthshire will attempt to break the Guinness World Record set by its Tennessee rival with a 200-litre bottle.

Jack Daniel’s currently holds the record with a 184-litre bottle produced last year.

Created by Czech glass manufacturer BOMMA, the bottle will be filled with the equivalent of 8,000 drams of whisky on Saturday 12 August as the brand celebrates its 107th birthday.

The giant bottle of whisky will be unveiled at a birthday party at The Famous Grouse Experience, which is also celebrating its 10th anniversary, at Glenturret Distillery on the day.

The Famous Grouse also held an auction for two people to win the chance to help fill the bottle, with proceeds going to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the winning bid for which was £570.
