Pickering’s Gin heads to Hong Kong and Canada
By Melita KielyEdinburgh-based Pickering’s Gin has secured major distribution deals in three new markets – Hong Kong, Canada and Central Europe.
Pickering’s Gin has agreed distribution in Hong Kong, Canada and Central EuropePickering’s Gin officially launched in March 2014, and the distillery became the first in Edinburgh for 150 years.
As a result of support from SDI and Scottish Enterprise, the brand identified “key export markets” and the first shipments of gin have already been exported and distributed to Central European countries including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxemburg and Netherlands.
Deliveries of all three expression of Pickering’s Gin – Pickering’s Gin (42% abv Classic), Pickering’s 1947 and Navy Strength – are already on their way to Hong Kong and Canada.
Marcus Pickering, co-founder of Pickering’s Gin alongside Matt Gammell, commented: “We are delighted that we are exporting Pickering’s Gin to some of the key global gin markets.
“It is testament to the quality of our products that there has been such an interest and demand for our premium gins.”
The founders are already eyeing expansion to other countries, with Australia and New Zealand named as upcoming destinations.
“For the past two years, we have been the official gin sponsor of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and we are thrilled to be joining the tattoo down under next February as they take their world famous event to audiences in Australia and New Zealand,” commented Gammell.
“Over the next few months we will be visiting Melbourne and Wellington introducing our gin to this emerging gin market.”
