Wemyss Malts launches NAS Kiln Embers
Wemyss Malts has launched a no-age-statement limited edition blended Scotch made with twice the amount of smoky Islay malt whisky than its existing Peat Chimney expression.
Wemyss Malts has launches no-age-statement limited edition Kiln EmbersA “celebration” of the distillery’s 10 years making whisky, Kiln Embers is non-chill-filtered and bottled at 46% abv.
Just 12,000 bottles have been released around the world, presented in a gift carton decorated with red and amber “embers”.
The nose gives scents of snuffed smoke, salted lemons and sweet cure bacon, while the palate delivers flavours of oats, orange peel, toast and heathery peat to give a “sweet smoke finish”.
“When I started this business in 2005, I never envisaged the amazing breadth of flavours to be found in whiskies,” said William Wemyss, managing director of Wemyss Malts.
“Our new Kiln Embers is even smokier than our existing smoky favourite Peat Chimney and is a fitting celebration of our 10 years in the industry.”
Wemyss Malts Kiln Embers will be available from specialist spirits retailers at an RRP of £42 per 700ml bottle.
