SPI Distribution changes name to ‘strengthen’ identity

Latvia’s largest wine and spirits wholesaler SPI Distribution has changed its name to Amber Distribution Latvia in an effort to “strengthen” the group’s identity.

SPI Distribution Latvia has changed its name to Amber Distribution Latvia

Amber Distribution Latvia distributes brands produced and owned by Amber Beverage Group – part of Stoli Vodka owner SPI Group – to Baltic countries, including Riga Black Balsam, Jim Beam, Tullamore Dew, Grant’s, Jägermeister and Rémy Martin.

Seymour Ferreira, board chairman of Amber Beverage Group, said the new name will “reflect its affiliation with the leading wine and strong spirits beverage holding company in the Baltic countries, Amber Beverage Group, and will strengthen the group’s unified corporate identity”.

In October 2014, SPI Group revealed the creation of Amber Beverage Group to manage its “ambitious development plans” in the Baltics.

Earlier this year, Amber Beverage Group agreed a deal with Beam Suntory to distribute the firm’s portfolio in all Baltic states.
