Entourage film star in new Johnnie Walker ad
Diageo has recruited American actor Kevin Dillon, star of new Warner Bros. film and TV show Entourage, to feature in a short film for Johnnie Walker Scotch whisky.
Kevin Dillon stars as his Entourage character Johnny “Drama” Chase in a new short film for Johnnie WalkerLaunched as part of the brand’s Keep Walking campaign, the short film – titled Johnny for Johnnie – features Dillon as his Entourage character Johnny “Drama” Chase.
“I was really excited from day one to be a part of this project,” commented Dillon. “Drama claims to be Irish, Chilean and part Japanese. I wouldn’t be surprised if he finds a bit of Scottish in his blood as well.”
Written by show creator Doug Ellin and directed by Dillon’s co-star Kevin Connolly, the ad is an extension of Johnny Drama’s plotline and depicts how passion, optimism, persistence and “layering” can lead to victory.
“What makes the Entourage series so universally relatable is that its story revolves around a group of friends and their unrelenting pursuit of their dreams,” said Dan Sanborn, vice president of influencer and entertainment marketing for Diageo North America. “We all have dreams but it’s not always easy to achieve them.
“In this short film, Johnny Drama – as only Drama can – brings to life his own dream, bringing some fun and levity to his journey and all of the steps along the way. It’s a classic Johnny Drama story of perseverance.”
