Blavod Vodka gains approval for US roll-out

Blavod Black Vodka has gained TTB approval in the USThe Distil-owned brand has been re-designed and re-packaged for the US market with a new recipe to meet TTB regulations.
It has since been approved by the body and will be distributed across the US by Ohio-based Kanetz, which has a network across the US, Mexico, Jamaica and Canada.
The UK-based group is also in the final staes of obtaining TTB approval for its Blackwoods 60% Gin, and expects full approval to be granted within the next five weeks.
Distil has already won distribution contract with The Winebow Group in the US, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
Don Goulding, executive chairman of Distil, said: “We now have a growing presence of our brands in the USA following the latest approvals and expect revenues to build progressively as they become established by our distributors.
“We await approval for RedLeg Spiced Rum and anticipate news in the next couple of months.”
Distil has also reported 12% sales growth for its owned brands over the Christmas period, despite “setbacks” for Blavod Black Vodka in Eastern Europe.
