Tomatin unveils cask strength and virgin oak whiskies

The distillery launched a new addition in the Tomatin Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky core range, The Cask Strength Edition, as well as its second Cù Bòcan release, The Virgin Oak EditionThe distillery, based in Inverness, announced a new addition to the Tomatin Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky core range, The Cask Strength Edition, as well as its second Cù Bòcan release, The Virgin Oak Edition.
The Cask Strength edition – matured in a combination of Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks – is described as sweet on the nose, and offers a blend of marzipan, chestnuts, toasted malt load and vanilla flavoured tobacco on the palate with a dry, spicy finish.
Bottled at 57.5% abv, this addition has a natural colour and is non-chill-filtered. It carries an RRP of £44.99 per 70cl bottle.
In addition, Tomatin Distillery has announced its second Cù Bòcan release, The Virgin Oak Edition, a new blend of the three Cù Bòcan casks: Sherry, Virgin Oak and Bourbon.
Cù Bòcan is the only peated whisky distilled and matured at the Tomatin Distillery, and comes as a range of three individual editions.
With an aroma of citrus fruits, it is said to have a taste of warm pecan pie, vanilla ice cream and baked apples.
Only 6,000 bottles are available, bottled at 46% abv and available for an RRP of £49.99 per 70cl bottle.
