Bitter Bastards range available in the UK

Drinks distributor Maverick Drinks has launched a new range of cocktail bitters, called Bitter Bastards, in the UK.

Bitter Bastards cocktail bitters range is now being distributed in the UK by Maverick Drinks

Comprising 25 different single botanical flavours, including Black Pepper, White Truffle, Sweet Orange and Naga Chilli, the range is described as having a “fresh and vibrant” flavour profile.

Each bitter is flavoured with a base spirits of Caribbean Rum, 8-year-old Bourbon, or grain vodka, depending on which suits the botanical best.

While most bitters are created by soaking ingredients in a base spirit for several weeks, the Bitter Bastards range “takes a new approach” by macerating the botanicals in spirits few just a few minutes.

The company said this allows for the extraction of “only the fresh-tasting, intense flavours by instantly opening up the botanicals’ surface area”.

After the rapid maceration, the spirit is then clarified using a centrifuge machine.

Bottles will be available from Master of Malt and other UK retailers through Maverick Drinks from this month with RRPs between £9.95 and £19.95.
