Scottish Juniper Festival celebrates World Gin Day
By Becky PaskinIn celebration of World Gin Day on 14 June, Edinburgh’s Summerhall will play host to the inaugural Scottish Juniper Festival featuring a range of gin brands and seminars.
The Scottish Juniper Festival 2014 will take place at Summerhall in Edinburgh on 13-14 JuneCurated by The Gin Gents, GinTime and the team from Solid Liquids, the Scottish Juniper Festival (13-14 June) will showcase brands from all over the world to “showcase the best that gin has to offer”.
Through the variety of gins on offer, all of which are available for sampling, The Gin Gents will highlight the numerous flavours, botanicals and styles available. Already confirmed to appear at the festival are Pickering’s Gin, NB Gin, Darnley’s View, Fevertree, Gloworm mixers, Burleigh’s, No.3, Hendrick’s, London No.1 and Caorunn.
Pickering’s Gin, which calls Summerhall its home, will be offering visitors a tour of its distillery and a “Snickering Pig” roast, smoked with the same botanicals featured in the gin.
Also taking place will be a local fashion, beauty and gin pairing, three educational gin seminars with GinTime author Geraldine Coates, and Hendrick’s Gin’s “Ma’am”, a Mobile Academy of Alcademic Meanderings.
