Anfosso joins following a seven-year tenure at BAT (British American Tobacco), where she was most recently global human resources (HR) lead. Her prior roles at the company were as regional HR director for the Americas and Europe.

She is also said to bring further extensive leadership experience across multinational consumer goods and healthcare companies, spanning two decades, including senior HR positions at GSK Consumer Healthcare.

She will replace David Souperbiet, who left the company last November.

In leading Campari Group’s HR department, Anfosso will be tasked with driving the company’s ‘global people agenda’ to strengthen its culture and commitment to fostering a dynamic and inclusive workplace.

She will commence her position in July.

Anfosso said: ‘I am excited to join Campari Group, a company I always admired for its unique and distinctive culture. The group’s strong legacy, iconic brands, and clear ambitions for the future closely align with my own commitment to building people-first organisations.

“In this new role, I look forward to leveraging my experience to further strengthen Campari Group’s culture of innovation, inclusion, and excellence, empowering teams to unlock their full potential.”

Campari Group kicked off 2026 with 2.9% organic growth in its first quarter (Q1) of 2026. It also restructured its leadership team in global travel retail (GTR).

CEO Simon Hunt added: “We are delighted to welcome Elena Anfosso as our new chief human resources officer. She brings extensive international expertise and a strong track record in leading global HR transformation, balancing culture change, automation and organisational effectiveness.

“Her leadership will be a key asset as we continue to evolve our people strategy ensuring it is fully aligned with Campari Group’s long-term vision and growth ambitions.”

Following its first quarter results, Hunt said plans to push for Aperol in the US, noting half of Americans are unaware of the brand.
