Nightjar plans talent contest to support The Drinks Trust
By Lauren BowesLondon’s Nightjar bar in Shoreditch is continuing its 15th anniversary celebrations with a one-night showcase of the UK drinks industry’s talent, creativity and flair.

Taking place on 15 September at 7pm, The Golden Shaker event aims to spotlight the people who make the on-trade vibrant, while giving back to the community. All proceeds will go directly to The Drinks Trust.
The charity is hoping to raise £1 million (US$1.2m) this year to build on the support it gave to more than 7,500 people in 2024.
The show is open to bartenders, brand ambassadors, managers and journalists alike, with the winner to be awarded a trophy, a magnum of vintage Champagne, and £250 (US$339) cash.
Entries are now closed, however tickets for the show can be purchased for £8 (US$11) at barnightjar.com/the-golden-shaker. Tickets include a welcome drink and a raffle entry, with rare bottles up for grabs.
To celebrate its 15th year, Nightjar created a menu based on the evolution of mixology through the ages.
The bar’s co-owner Roisin Stimpson spoke at a panel at BCB London this year on the topic of achieving longevity in the on-trade.
