Uncle Nearest unleashes Master Blend nationwide
Tennessee-based whiskey producer Uncle Nearest has unveiled its 2025 Master Blend Edition, marking the brand’s eighth anniversary.
First released in 2021 as a distillery exclusive, Uncle Nearest Master Blend is a limited edition, premium whiskey. For the first time since its introduction, the expression will be available beyond the distillery’s gates.
Master Blend will be one of the few limited releases from the brand this year.
A total of 8,888 bottles will be released, symbolising eight years of honouring the legacy of Nearest Green, the first known African American master distiller.
Victoria Eady Butler created the blend. She is a fifth-generation descendant of Nearest Green, whose signature can be found in every bottle.
For every Uncle Nearest blend, Butler sets aside a barrel she believes to be the finest from the batch. The selected barrels are combined to create the annual Master Blend: ‘a bold, cask-strength whiskey that features rich notes of caramelised sugar, dark fruit, and warm baking spices’.
Butler said: “This Master Blend is a celebration not just of the past eight years, but of everything that lies ahead. It’s bold, it’s beautiful, and I can’t wait for more people to finally experience it.”
Offered at 55.5% ABV, the 2025 Master Blend Edition will be rolled out nationwide in the US across 32 markets. It has a suggested retail price of US$149.

Launched in July 2017, Uncle Nearest opened its dedicated distillery in Shelbyville, Tennessee, in 2019.
