Jigger & Pony closes Singapore’s Sugarhall
Rum bar Sugarhall in Singapore’s Central Business District closed this weekend (26 July), with Jigger & Pony to launch a new concept in the space.

Posting on Instagram, the bar said: “Sugarhall has been home to rummin’ good times, delicious bowls of indomie, and plenty of shared nightcaps. We’re so thankful for everyone who’s come through our hall – thank you for being part of our journey.”
As well as Sugarhall, Jigger & Pony also closed its American grill restaurant Rosemead on the same day.
Both concepts were in the same building on Cecil Street.
The group’s other concepts – which include its eponymous bar Jigger & Pony, Live Twice and Gibson in Singapore, as well as Jakarta bar Cosmo Pony – will remain open.
The move is indicative of a wider shift in Singapore. Last week, distributor Proof & Company Spirits went into liquidation, which it attributed to the closure of some of its longest-standing bars.
In December 2024, the city-state’s Tippling Club closed after 17 years.
Other high-profile closures include Smoke & Mirrors, the rooftop cocktail bar at the National Gallery, and Tuckshop, Singapore’s only dedicated drag bar.
