Desolas Mezcal expands to Tennessee
Female-founded mezcal brand Desolas has partnered with Tennessee Crown Distributing Co to launch in the Volunteer State.
The partnership with Tennessee Crown Distributing Co, a subsidiary of Georgia Crown, will make Desolas Mezcal available in 21 West Tennessee counties.
With an already established presence in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Georgia, Texas, California, and Colorado, Tennessee represents the eighth state in Desolas Mezcal’s US expansion plan.
GG Mirvis, founder and CEO of Desolas Mezcal, commented on the milestone: “Tennessee’s rich appreciation for quality spirits makes it a perfect home for Desolas. Aligning with Tennessee Crown, with its deep roots and stellar reputation, let us share our unique mezcal with a new community passionate about craft spirits.”
Launched in 2020, Desolas is crafted from 100% Salmiana agave, also known as the ‘green giant’, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
The agave is cooked in above-ground hornos, which result in notes of citrus, fresh agave, and subtle green and black pepper. According to the producer, the mezcal is characterised by a distinctly low-smoke due to the region’s arid, chalky soils.
Earlier this year, the mezcal brand reported a ‘record’ year in 2024 after sales throughout the US grew by 103% compared to 2023.
