Desolas Mezcal expands presence in Texas
By Miona MadsenFemale-founded mezcal brand Desolas has secured a listing with retailer Spec’s in Texas, expanding its presence in the Lone Star state.

The new listing with the state’s largest spirits retailer, Spec’s, will see Desolas on the shelves of more than 200 store locations.
This distribution expansion follows the brand’s launch in Texas last year in partnership with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.
GG Mirvis, CEO and co-founder of Desolas, commented: “Texas has been a fantastic market for us, and we’re thrilled to see such a strong response to Desolas. Expanding to more Spec’s locations is a significant milestone, we’re excited to bring our high-quality mezcal to even more consumers across the state.
“We’re excited to continue our relationship with Spec’s and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits to share Desolas with more of the Texas community.”
Desolas Mezcal is made exclusively from Salmiana agave grown in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, using traditional methods.
The brand’s mezcal is described as ‘low-smoke’ with botanical aromas and flavours of citrus, vanilla, and a touch of black pepper.
Since its launch in 2020, Desolas has grown its availability to include New York, Florida, Georgia, Texas, California and Colorado. Nationwide shipping in the US is also available through its website.
Last month, the brand welcomed former Blue Run Spirits executive Sammy Halpern as its new chief strategy officer.
