As part of its US growth strategy, Cardrona distillery has relocated global brand ambassador Pat Fraser from New Zealand to the US. Fraser’s presence is said to help drive education, strengthen trade relationships, and support brand-building across key markets.

“Having Pat based in the US is a significant milestone for Cardrona,” founder and managing director Desiree Reid said. “His deep understanding of our process and passion for our spirits make him the ideal ambassador. With Pat on the ground, we’re well positioned to share The Reid’s story and expand its footprint across the country.”

Cardrona was founded in 2015 by Reid on New Zealand’s South Island, and produces a single malt whisky in addition to the namesake vodka. In 2023, UK-based International Beverage acquired Cardrona in order to gain “a foothold in the dynamic new world spirits category”.

The Reid is made by master distiller Sarah Elsom from locally-sourced barley that is distilled in custom Carl column stills. It is neither chill- nor charcoal-filtered and is bottled at 44% ABV.

“Modern vodka is known for being tasteless, but vodka wasn’t always made this way,” Reid said. “The Reid takes its cue from traditional vodkas – crafted with care, character, and exceptional ingredients. It’s a vodka with provenance and personality, made by craftswomen who care deeply about what’s in the glass.”
