There was a bigger focus on spirits at ProWein this year with the return of the ProSpirits Hall and the Same But Different hall.

Approximately 500 exhibitors from 53 countries showed their best wares across the three-day event in Düsseldorf in March, from whisky, gin and rum to Tequila, ready-to-drink products and more.

This highlights reel gives you a snippet of the vibrancy of this year’s event – particularly in the Same But Different hall, where The Spirits Business Hub hosted three days of talks and tastings.

“The people are brilliant, the people are great, the people are young, the people are crazy – the people have so many ideas,” said Nicole Funke, senior project manager, ProWein/ProSpirits, about this year’s guests and exhibitors.

“ProWein and ProSpirits really complement each other,” noted Peter Schmitz, ProWein director. “When we launched ProSpirits last year, [it was] very successful. We combined each spirits company that was divided in several halls just in two halls, including Same But Different.

“I see an emerging market and that was the reason because we have created a new brand with ProSpirits so it’s kind of an exhibition in an exhibition.”

The Spirits Business Bar in partnership with Thomas Henry welcomed the talented team from The Rumah bar in Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, who shook and stirred a number of cocktails – including alcohol-free variations – over the three-day event.

Over the next few weeks, The Spirits Business will be posting all the talks from The Spirits Business Hub in full on our YouTube channel and on The Spirits Business website.

Sessions included everything from tariffs, and the rise of Tequila to harnessing the power of AI, and successful stories of women in spirits. The opening seminar focused on the inaugural ProSpirits Report: The Future of Spirits, while the closing talk on day two featured a Q&A with The Vampire Diaries actor and co-founder of Brother’s Bond Bourbon Ian Somerhalder.
