Mad Ron Week will run from 7-12 May 2025, and will see a group of rum ambassadors come together, each represented a different brand.

The near week-long agenda of events celebrates Madrid’s cocktail heritage and culture, and aims to revamp the city’s bar scene by bringing together enthusiasts, industry professionals, and curious newcomers to explore and enjoy rum.

Brand ambassadors such as Miguel Tena from Ron Carupano, Luis Viera from Ron Santa Teresa, and Larissa Arjona from Ron Abuelo Panama will be in attendance.

Tena, a co-founder of Mad Ron Week, said: “There are many top cocktail bars in Madrid that do wonders with rum. With more than three million cases sold annually, rum is part of our culture. Our involvement with rum goes back centuries, when Spaniards moved to different countries and started distilling sugarcane.”

The week will feature a series of events across the city, including cocktail menus, tastings, masterclasses, and cultural experiences that highlight rum’s global influence.

A number of bars will feature a specially-curated cocktail menu, including Farándula Fearless, Lovo, El Antillano Puerto Rican Bar, Love Cocktail Company, Ti’ Punch, and Tiki Volcano.

To close the week, on Monday 12 May, Bacardi and Ron Santa Teresa will sponsor the ‘Daq-off’ competition. Bartenders from various bars will compete head-to-head to see who can make two Daiquiris the fastest: one to share with the judge and one for themselves.

Attendees can register online to check in and get their wristband, agenda, and punch card. They can then pick up their passes at the new Flor de Caña Experience Store, Lafuente Liquor Store, or each participating bar.

The event also coincides with the second anniversary of the Spain Rum and Gin Expo. The Mad Rum Week alone is expected to draw many rum and spirits enthusiasts from Spain and Latin America.

In February, Paraguayan rum brand El Supremo hosted an exclusive event at the Kissing Room during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Madrid.
