From 14-27 April, consumers can sample creations from 87 bars in 23 cities, including London, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Manchester.

Each participating bar will serve three cocktails specifically created for the World Class GB festival, inspired by their local community and based around a Diageo-owned spirit, including Don Julio Tequila, The Singleton whisky and Seedlip.

At Gleneagles Townhouse in Edinburgh, top 100 bartender Jack Smith has created locally inspired drinks, house signatures, and classics that celebrate Scottish ingredients.

Meanwhile, in Glasgow, finalist Stuart Walker will be serving up limited edition serves at Hazel bar.

Ego Death in Manchester has two top 100 bartenders, Steven Vaughan and Alex Goacher, who contribute to an ‘inventive and playful’ menu.

Passing Fancies in Birmingham also has two participating bartenders, Matt Arnold and Zidan Azad.

Marco Meloni is representing London from Side Hustle in the NoMad hotel, with other London bars including Three Sheets Soho, The Connaught Bar, Lyaness and Viajante87.

SB’s Bar of the Year 2024, Kiki Lounge on the Isle of Man, is also participating.

“The talent on show this year has been fantastic to see,” said Jo Last, Diageo GB’s advocacy manager. “It’s time to get out and support your local bars. We have 100 passionate bartenders showcasing their unique talents in some of the most awarded bars across the country. Let’s show them all some support.”

This year’s World Class features a list of 10 exclusive prizes to be won, including an all-expenses-paid trip to the global final in Toronto, Canada, an ‘unforgettable journey’ to New York City, a Soho House membership, and a two-year talent representation with Global Bartending.

Last year’s GB winner, Danilo Frigulti, told us why he thinks anyone in the industry should take on the competition.
