Tincup undergoes ‘lineup evolution’

Proximo-owned Tincup has added an age statement to its flagship whiskey line-up and introduced a Bourbon to its core range.

The Tincup portfolio of whiskeys has a new look. Its Original American whiskey now bears a six-year age statement, while the brand has also added a Bourbon to its permanent offerings.

“What sets Tincup apart – both within our portfolio and in the broader whiskey landscape – is its deep-rooted connection to adventure culture and its commitment to preserving the great outdoors,” Proximo CMO Lander Otegui said. “Our goal has always been to craft exceptional whiskeys that excite our loyal consumers while making Tincup more accessible to new audiences. The 2025 lineup evolution is a direct response to that mission.”

Tincup six-year-old Original American whiskey is a blend of high-rye straight Bourbon and American single malt. It is bottled at 42% ABV and priced at US$28. The whiskey shows aromas of citrus, black pepper and ginger snap, with rye spice, cinnamon and caramel on the palate.

Tincup Bourbon joins the Original American, Fourteener, and 10 Year Old whiskey within the brand’s core lineup. It is bottled at 40% ABV and priced at US$25. The whiskey was aged for four years in American oak casks, and features hints of vanilla cream and caramel on the nose with butterscotch, dried orange and allspice on the palate. Both whiskeys are available across the US.

“We saw an opportunity to introduce a versatile, 80-proof Bourbon that would resonate with both consumers seeking an approachable entry point and bartenders looking for a high-quality, mixable whiskey,” Otegui said. “At the same time, interest in American single malt whiskey has never been higher, especially with the official category designation announcement [in December]. By increasing the proportion of American single malt in Tincup’s six-year-old Original, we’ve further differentiated it in the marketplace.”

Alongside these moves to the core range, Tincup is also debuting a limited edition 10-year-old straight rye available only in its home-state of Colorado. That whiskey is bottled at 50% ABV and priced at US$65. It is the brand’s oldest rye to date.

Tincup was founded by Jess Graber in 2008 and acquired by Proximo in 2010.
