Hacha to open Bermondsey site
By Lauren BowesDeano Moncrieffe and Emma Murphy will open a new Hacha bar in London’s Bermondsey in late February.

The launch will come shortly after the closure of Hacha Brixton on 15 February. Opened in summer 2021 in Brixton Village, the site was the group’s second outpost, following the original site in Dalston, London. The team chose not to renew their lease on the site because Brixton Village is up for sale.
The new site will be a partnership with global hotel group Locke Hotels, set within the Bermonds Locke hotel. The bar will be open Tuesday to Sunday for both hotel guests and the public.
It has around 100 indoor covers as well as a terrace which will add an additional 40 covers in spring and summer.

As with the group’s previous sites, the full cocktail menu will be available with a choice of either Tequila or mezcal as the base ingredient.
Moncrieffe will also be working on new signature serves for the site, which so far include the Bermondsey Batanga – which combines Tequila or mezcal, spiced purple carrot cordial, calamansi, Coke Zero, Tobala Mezcal float and Palo Santo smoked salt – and Twenty, a blend of Marigold-infused Tequila or mezcal, banana, white Port, Botivo and wild pine forest soda.
Mexican street food will provided by Nopalito, who previously partnered with and neighboured Hacha Brixton. The bar will also host some of the UK’s leading restaurants for quarterly ‘fusion partnerships’.
The venue will also offer weekend brunch and an ‘agave apéritif’ concept for post-work, pre-dinner hours.
New to the Bermondsey site is the Agave List 2.0 – a ‘virtual back bar’ that guests can use both in-house and on social media to access tasting notes and brand information about agave spirits that Moncrieffe has recorded himself. It will also feature a rotating agave spirit of the week, with complimentary samples.
The new bar will open on National Margarita Day (22 February).
