Ardbeg House opens bookings ahead of launch
By Miona MadsenThe Glenmorangie Company has opened bookings for its new Ardbeg House hotel, which is set to open on Islay in autumn 2025.

Described as a world-class whisky and hospitality experience, the newly refurbished and renamed hotel is designed to honour the spirit of Islay and the Ardbeg Distillery’s history, which dates back to 1815.
The hotel offers accommodation, food, and drink and is located on the shore in Port Ellen, a few miles from Ardbeg Distillery.
With bookings now open on the distillery’s website, Ardbeg has revealed images of the proposed refurbishment, offering a preview of Russell Sage Studio’s vision for the interiors.
The distinct restyling includes a bar with a courtyard, a new-look ground-floor restaurant, and 12 unique bedrooms, each exploring the history of Islay and Ardbeg.
Guests can also enjoy two exclusive whiskies: one available only at the hotel and the other at both the hotel and the Ardbeg Distillery visitor centre.
Ellie Goss, director of external affairs and hospitality at the Glenmorangie Company, said: “Ardbeg has been crafting its distinctive smoky whisky on Islay for over 200 years. As we celebrate this next chapter in our journey, we are delighted to welcome guests to Ardbeg House and honour the very best of Islay.”
Ardbeg’s proposed investment in the hotel is the latest in a series of substantial investments and further illustrates its ongoing support for Islay and the local community.

The distillery recently built a new still house, enhancing its visitor experience.
Furthermore, Ardbeg is partnering to build a new community hub in Port Ellen and has directly contributed to roads and pathways.
Last year, The Whisky Travel Index listed Ardbeg as Scotland’s best distillery tour and tasting experience.
The distillery also released several limited releases, including a €25,000 (US$27,190 / £21,250) The Abyss, and resurrected the previously discontinued Ardbeg 17-year-old.
The Spirits Business previously visited Glenmorangie House, the home of Ardbeg’s stablemate, which was also designed by Russell Sage Studio.
