SB Advent: Tarquin’s Cornish Dry Gin

With seven more sleeps to go before the big man arrives to take all the credit for your gift buying endeavours, we’re bringing a gin that will keep your spirits high.

Tarquin's gin
All we want for Christmas is cocktails on a beach

By this stage we estimate we are 30% mince pie, 20% brandy butter, and 50% all the drinks we’ve covered in our SB Advent series so far. Now it’s time to skew the data some more and add in this delicious gin from Cornish brand Tarquin’s.

Developed by founder and master distiller Tarquin Leadbetter, this bottle is a contemporary take on a classic London Dry gin, distilled with 12 botanicals sourced from across the globe and locally foraged on the wild Cornish coast.

You can expect crisp piney notes from the juniper balanced with fresh citrus and a bright floral finish.

Bottled at 42% ABV, it’s a fantastic base for many cocktails. However, if you’re off the sauce this Christmas for whatever reason, don’t feel like you have to miss out, as the brand has just entered the alcohol-free category with a non-alcoholic version of this signature gin.

Crafted for versatility, Tarquin’s Cornish Dry Non-Alcoholic ‘Spirit’ has been three years in the making, and was designed to replace traditional dry gin in alcohol-free drinks and cocktails with lower-alcohol content.

It was distilled with Cornish coastal botanicals, and plenty of classic juniper and fresh orange zest and is described as crisp, clean and vibrant. Just the thing you need if you overcook it on Christmas eve and need a little rest from your booze intake on the big day.
