Le Tribute Countryside Luxury Gin

Baby it’s cold outside, but MG Destilerías will have you reminiscing about summer evenings with Le Tribute Countryside Luxury Gin. Botanicals used include black cardamom to add spicy, smoky and menthol notes, balanced by lavender and sage. Lemongrass is distilled in water to preserve its aromatic freshness, and bring touches of citrus to the gin.

Two gift pack options are also available, one presented in a box, and a second in a box with two glasses. The gift-boxed gin alone retails for €75 (US$82), while the pack with glasses costs €90 (US$98).

Cocktail Club cocktail kit

If you know someone who’s looking to take their home-bartending skills to the next level, or maybe their new year’s resolution is to pursue a career in hospitality, then the Cocktail Club’s Bar Set will start them on their merry way. It is at the more expensive end of the gifting scale at €439.90 (US$460), but the quality of tools and recipe tutorials make it worth every penny.

The cocktail kit comes with 17 key pieces of apparatus that every bartender should have in their arsenal – including recipes to get you started. The premium tools – including a thick steel cocktail shaker and self-designed muddler – can be packed away in a washable roll-bag; plus, there’s a cutting board and ice bucket. Furthermore, the Q-Kit bar set is integrated with a bottle scanner and recipe app, where users can find tutorials to help them master recipes and familiarise themselves with the equipment.

The Heart Club #10 and #11

If you’re looking to support an independent bottler but (understandably) want assurance on the quality inside of the liquid, then award-winning The Heart Cut could be just what you’re looking for. Just in time for Christmas, The Heart Cut has created two small batch releases in partnership with White Peak Distillery in England and JJ Corry in Ireland.

Distilled in 2020 and bottled at 55% ABV in September 2024, The Heart Cut #10 with White Peak is an English single malt whisky that has been aged solely in Tawny Port casks. It’s said to be bursting with a rich smokiness on the palate, subtle sweetness of stewed plums and vibrant raspberry jam. Plus, there’s a touch of bacon Frazzles and scorched strawberries.

Meanwhile, #11 with JJ Corry (48% ABV) is The Heart Cut’s first dive into Irish whiskey. The blend uses pot still, grain and single malt whiskies drawn from four casks. Two of the blended whiskeys were fully aged in oloroso and PX Sherry casks, while the other two were finished in oloroso and Pajarete casks. The resulting flavour is richly layered with notes of ripe apricots, vanilla custard Danish, zesty lemon peel and almond flakes. Both whiskies can be bought online from theheartcut.com and retailers including Master of Malt.

Hennessy VSOP Chinese New Year

Hennessy Cognac Year of Snake christmas

The Lunar New Year falls on 29 January 2025, marking the beginning of the Year of the Snake. To mark the occasion, Hennessy partnered with fashion designer Shuting Qiu to create a trio of limited edition Cognac bottles for Chinese New Year.

One of Qiu’s designs was created for Hennessy VSOP (pictured above, far left), and we think it will make a beautiful – and delicious – addition to any dinner table throughout the festive season. Qiu, who hails from Hangzhou in China, took inspiration from her cultural heritage and travels for the limited edition designs. The VSOP creation, priced at £65 (US$84), includes red floral motifs alongside Hawaiian-inspired elements. The bottle features a mix of plaid and abstract snake scale silhouettes to symbolise renewal and legacy. The bottle comes in a lined bag with a mix of floral and leaf motifs, described as an ‘artistic celebration of colour’.

Desi Daru Mango Vodka

Desi Daru vodka

There’s a reason Desi Daru Alphonso Mango has been collecting so many accolades over the past two years – the quality of this vodka is snow joke. From being crowned The Vodka Taste Master in The Vodka Masters 2023 to being declared Vodka Brand of the Year at The Spirits Business Awards 2024, the British-Indian brand is going from strength to strength.

Beautifully packaged that it would make a fine present for any vodka lover, this is the juiciest, most authentically mango-flavoured vodka you’ll come across. We’re certain it will please even the most discerning drinkers around the dinner table.

Oatrageous Bourbon Cream

Oatrageous Oat Milk Liqueur debuts with three products: Espresso, Coconut, and a Bourbon Cream.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without lashings of cream liqueurs. But there are myriad options on the market now – and for those looking for a dairy-free alternative, Oatrageous has a trio of flavours on offer.

The brand debuted with three plant-based cream liqueurs in September, including the first dairy-free Bourbon cream. The two other flavours are Coconut and Espresso, and all three are bottled at 14% ABV.

Takamaka Le Clos Napa Laz

Takamaka-Le-Clos-Napa christmasWhat do you gift to the rum connoisseur in your life? Well, we’d recommend giving Takamaka Le Clos Napa Laz some serious thought. The limited edition rum hails from the Seychelles, and is made entirely with non-hybrid sugarcane varieties sourced from local farmers. The final product sits at 53.4% ABV and, in keeping with the distillery’s other products, is free from additives and added sugar, and is non-charcoal and non-chill filtered.

The rum is said to have a herbal and mineral profile, with citrus, green pepper and some tropical fruit notes. It retails for around £70 (US$90) per bottle.

Sylva

Sylva

We’re firm believers that just because you don’t drink alcohol – for whatever reason – you should still have delicious, sophisticated drinks options available to you. That’s why we were delighted to see the founder behind Seedlip, Ben Branson, open Sylva this year, a non-alcoholic distillery and maturation lab in the UK.

The inaugural release is Padauk, made from the eponymous West African wood. Red oak from the lab’s forest and American oak barrel staves from Scottish distillery Nc’nean are also used to make the non-alcoholic ‘spirit’. The wood is complemented with rye, which undergoes malted rye extraction, toasted rye vacuum distillation, and gravity percolation. Sylva retails for £40 (US$50) per 500ml bottle.

Paradiso MG Gin

MG Gin paradiso

When the owner of one of the world’s best bars teams up with a leading Spanish distiller, you know the end result is going to be good. Giacomo Giannotti, founder of Paradiso bar in Barcelona, collaborated with MG Destilerías to create Gin MG Paradiso. Sitting at 40% ABV, the gin’s botanicals include juniper, lemongrass, ginger, Sichuan pepper and bergamot.

So if you’re keen to snap up a bottle before Christmas, the gin is available to purchase online via escoladist.com, priced at just under €20 (US$21).

58 and Co Vermouth

58 and Co Vermouth

Christmas time, mistletoe and vermouth made from waste wine. We love a sustainably conscious spirit – and the folks at London-based distillery 58 and Co partnered boxed wine brand Laylo to make a vermouth from repurposed excess wine.

The wine has been transformed into bianco vermouth with hand-picked botanicals from 58 and Co’s garden, including lemon verbena, wormwood, Egyptian lemon, cassia, orris root, cox apples and vanilla. Recommended chilled over ice, mixed with Mediterranean tonic, or in a Spritz, the vermouth is bottled at 20% ABV and retails for £29 (US$38).

Last week, The Spirits Business editorial team shared what spirits they think will sleigh this Christmas.
