SB Advent: Kentucky Bourbon Festival winter raffle
For the third day of SB Advent, we’re sharing a special raffle opportunity from the Kentucky Bourbon Festival which could yield a special lot of whiskeys or cigars.
The Kentucky Bourbon Festival is getting into the holiday spirit by raffling off three lots from this year’s Single Barrel Select — Distillers’ Row Series, and a fourth lot of signed bottles and cigar goods from Deployment Cigar Company.
The raffle opened on 15 November with winners to be announced 15 December.
Raffle chances are US$100 each, with 500 chances available per lot. Raffle winners must pick up their bottles in Bardstown, Kentucky, as shipping is not available. There is no limit to the number of chances one can purchase.
“This is the only way to get your hands on some of the single barrels we did for this year’s festival, if you didn’t get a chance in September,” president and COO Randy Prasse said. “We are very excited to offer 2024 KYBF Single Barrel Select – the 4th annual ‘Distillers’ Row Series’ – and cigar goods and hard-to-find premium items from Deployment Cigar Company, in this year’s annual winter bottle raffle.”
Lot one includes: 1792 Bottled in Bond Bourbon, Maker’s Mark, Angel’s Envy finished in Sherry Cask, Hemingway Rye, Nulu Whiskey Co Maple Brulée finish, Castle & Key Bourbon, Ezra Brooks Bourbon, Larrikin Bourbon Co Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Rabbit Hole ‘Heigold’ Yellowstone Bourbon, Woodford Reserve, Hidden Barn and Bluegrass Distillers.
Lot two includes: Four Roses OBSV single barrel Bourbon, Bardstown Bourbon Company Rye, Buzzard’s Roost, Kentucky Peerless Bourbon, Remus Bourbon, New Riff Distilling, Whiskey Thief Distilling Co, Wilderness Trail Distillery, Dueling Grounds Distillery’s ‘Linkumpinch’ Bourbon, RD1 Spirits Bourbon finished with Ruby Port Wood, Rabbit Hole ‘Cavehill’, Jeptha Creed and Knob Creek Bourbon.
Lot three includes: Kentucky Peerless Double Oak Rye, Monk’s Road Bourbon, Barrell Craft Spirits Toasted Bourbon, Green River Distilling Co, Old Forester, Old Louisville Whiskey Co, Penelope Bourbon, Casey Jones Distillery, Augusta Distillery, Chicken Cock Whiskey, RD1 Spirits Bourbon finished with Apple Wood, Town Branch Distillery and Larrikin Bourbon Co High Wheat Rye.
Lot four includes: five signed bottles, Bardstown Bourbon Co. Single Barrel ‘Red, White & Bourbon’ 120 Proof, EJ Curley Single Barrel 122.28 Proof, Angel’s Envy finished in Port Wine 86.6 Proof, Yellowstone Bourbon Special Finishes Collection: Rum Cask 100 Proof, and Buzzard’s Roost Bottled in Bond 100 proof Bourbon Batch No. 1. Cigar goods from Deployment Cigar Company include an assortment of cigars (quantity 100) with wood carved cigar holder, a cocktail smoker kit in an engraved wood case, an Ammo Can Humidor and a Sgt John Bass USMC-inspired cigar cutter made from reclaimed teak deck wood of the USS Iowa. The cutter supports suicide prevention in the military veteran community. The value of this lot alone is more than US$4,000.
The 34th iteration of the festival will take place from 5 to 7 September 2025. Tickets for all four lots are still available.

Maverick Distilling Nog-atomi Plaza
Ingredients
60ml Maverick Straight Bourbon
1 Whole egg
30ml Heavy cream
15ml Maple syrup
15ml Spiced simple syrup
Method: Combine all ingredients and dry shake 20x (without ice) in a tin until frothy and smooth. Add ice and shake again to chill. Use a Hawthorne strainer to pour into a Coupe and top with a light dusting of cinnamon.
To make the Spiced simple syrup: Combine two cups hot water and two cups sugar with 2 tablespoons pumpkin spice and the peel of 2 whole oranges. Stir and strain into a jar or bottle of your choice.
Milam & Greene Espresso Rye-Tini
Ingredients
60ml Milam & Greene Port Finished Rye Whiskey
30ml Espresso cold brew
15ml Mr Black Cold Brew Liqueur
30ml Vanilla or regular simple
Method: Mix the ingredients. Shake on ice for 20-25 seconds. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with coffee beans.
