Cygnet Gin secures Fortnum & Mason listing
Welsh gin brand Cygnet, co-founded by Katherine Jenkins OBE, has secured a listing with the Fortnum & Mason department store in London.
Launched in 2023 by classical singer Jenkins and artist and filmmaker Andrew Levitas, Cygnet Gin’s collection highlights sustainability and hand-crafted quality.
The brand was born from the desire to break the mould in a traditionally male-dominated industry, while channelling their combined passion for environmental conservation.
As a gin drinker herself, she set out to develop a luxury spirit that would appeal to a female audience who mindfully consume luxury products.
Cygnet Gin is made with Welsh botanicals by a sixth-generation distillation team that utilises a vapour infusion process.
The founders have embedded environmental responsibility into the brand’s DNA, ensuring that ‘the freshest, highest-quality ingredients’ are sourced responsibly through local suppliers, and that the finished gin is presented in hand-crafted sustainable packaging.
The Cygnet 22 bottle is hand-blown and weighs up to 50% less than the average spirits bottle, reducing the brand’s carbon footprint. Cygnet also encourages consumers to repurpose their bottles.
Both the brand’s Cygnet 22, offered at 44% ABV, and ultra-premium Cygnet Welsh Dry Gin, bottled at 40% ABV, are now available at Fortnum & Mason, located at 181 Piccadilly, London.
Levitas commented on the new listing: “As Cygnet enters its second award-filled year, it’s an incredible milestone to partner with Fortnum & Mason.
“This expansion aligns with our vision to create the world’s most luxurious and elegant spirit, which tastes incredible and reinforces our personal ethos of sustainability and excellence.”
In addition to the new listing, Cygnet’s gin line is available in the UK through the brand’s website, as well as Waitrose, John Lewis, Harvey Nichols and Marks & Spencer. Cygnet 22 has an RRP of £48.50 (US$63) and Cygnet Welsh Dry Gin retails for £35.99 (US$46).
The brand’s ready-to-serve (RTD) Welsh Dry Gin & Tonic is available at 55 Tesco stores across Wales with an RRP of £3.50 (US$4.50) per 250ml can, each offered at 7% ABV.
In 2024, the brand won a number of awards including a Master medal for Cygnet 22 at this year’s Luxury Masters and a Gold medal at The Gin Masters – First Tasting 2024.
