Breakthru Beverage Group will now distribute Edrington Americas’ brands, including The Macallan, Highland Park, and The Glenrothes single malts, Brugal Dominican rum, and Wyoming Whiskey in the US state.

“Colorado consumers have a deep appreciation for quality and craftsmanship, which aligns perfectly with what Edrington represents,” said Breakthru Beverage Group chief commercial officer, Kevin Roberts.

Juan Campos, Edrington Americas senior vice-president, commercial for USA & Canada, added: “Breakthru’s strong market presence and commitment to excellence make them a natural fit for Edrington’s ultra-premium spirit brands.

“We look forward to working with the Breakthru team to unlock exciting opportunities and accelerate our presence across Colorado.”

The deal comes just days after Breakthru announced it is to buy Republic National Distributing Company’s (RNDC) stakes in a joint venture with National Wine & Spirits (NWS) across Kentucky and Indiana.

The family-owned firm now operates in 18 markets across the US and 10 provinces in Canada.

Edrington Group began as a wholesale whisky blender and broker founded as Robertson & Baxter group in Glasgow in 1850.

Today, its brands are distributed in more than 100 countries around the world.
