Craft Distilling Expo to debut in Birmingham
The first regional conference from the Craft Distilling Expo will be held in Birmingham on 22 November.
The inaugural regional conference will bring together distillers, industry professionals, and whisky enthusiasts from across the UK at The Bond Digbeth from 10am to 6pm on Friday 22 November 2024.
Hosted in collaboration with Exploring English Whisky and The English Whisky Guild, the one-day event promises to highlight the whisky distilling scene in England and beyond.
The conference will feature an impressive line-up of technical speakers and provide attendees with an opportunity to interact directly with vendors and suppliers.
Daniel Szor from Cotswolds Distillery will be the event’s keynote speaker. Prior to his speech, he will be honoured with an award for his Outstanding Contribution to Distilling.
Other talks and workshops include ‘The Future of Powering Stills’ by Scott Allen, ‘From Brewery to Distillery: the Next Steps’ by Matthew Servini and ‘Five Ways to Cut Costs of Goods’ by Rosie Milsom.
The show will conclude with a ‘Meet the Maker’ drinks networking event featuring a selection of English whiskies and gin.
The event will take place the day before Exploring English Whisky’s English Whisky Festival on Saturday 23 November 2024, also located at The Bond Digbeth. The festival will feature 30 brands and more than 100 samples.
Tickets for the event are now on sale at the event’s website. A 20% discount with code SBNOV24 is available.
An annual event for distillers, industry professionals, and enthusiasts, the Craft Distilling Expo was established in 2013.
The expo provides a platform for education, innovation, and networking, focusing on the art and science of craft distilling. It includes workshops, seminars, and exhibitions that explore trends, techniques, and new technologies in the distilling industry.
This year, the Craft Distilling Expo in London, which was scheduled for early October, was postponed until 2025.
