Top 10 ready-to-drink Negronis

While the Negroni’s equal-parts recipe might seem fool-proof, sometimes the iconic red serve just doesn’t quite hit right at home.
That’s where these 10 pre-mixed, ready-to-drink versions really come into their own. No chance of an unbalanced, over-bitter poor serve here. These brands have it nailed.
Moth Negroni
For when you want to feel like you’re soaking up the sun on the Amalfi Coast (but you’re actually stuck on your commuter train home), this canned Negroni blends Tarquin The Seadog navy strength gin with Asterley Bros vermouth and amaro to bring enigmatic, floral, punchy and bitter flavours to you in a travel-convenient 125ml serving.
The 14.9% ABV Moth Negroni is available from Waitrose, waitrose.com and mothdrinks.com, as well as in many of the UK’s major supermarket’s including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Asda.
Black Lines White Negroni
Just in time for Negroni Week, Black Lines launched its White iteration of the Italian serve yesterday (12 September). The expression is made with East London Gin, Suze liqueur and Dolin Blanc, which Black Lines said created a ‘smoother, brighter sip’ that is ‘gentian- and juniper-forward, with gentle warmth and bite, finished with notes of melon and grapefruit’.
Bottled at 18.6% ABV, a 500ml bottle of the White Negroni retails for RRP £27 (US$35) and is available from the brand’s website and selected retailers now.
Whitebox Pocket Negroni
We’re not saying that cuteness is a quality we often look for in our RTDs, but if it was, we’d constantly be exclusively reaching for this dinky can that also happens to house one of the best Negronis in the biz.
This small serve won itself a Master-medal in our Pre-Mixed & RTD Masters 2022, with our judges praising it for its “bitter, sweet classic nose”, noting it both looks and smells like a Negroni. It was also admired for being “nicely balanced, not too sweet at all, medium-long finish with a good bitter note”.
Lind & Lime Negroni
Another newbie that made its debut this week is this White Strawberry Negroni made by Lind & Lime Gin in collaboration with Edinburgh bar Hey Palu.
The White Strawberry Negroni is Hey Palu’s signature serve and combines Lind & Lime gin with strawberry vermouth and bianco bitter. The brand described its taste as ‘sweet and bitter but, taking the same ethos as Lind & Lime, perfectly balanced’.
The cocktail is presented in Lind & Lime’s award-winning wine-shaped bottle, and retails for £29.50 (US$39) from The Leith Export Co and Hey Palu directly, as well as various bottle shops in Scotland.
NIO Negroni Next
When we’re trying to limit our alcohol intake but still fancy a sip of this bitter classic, we turn to NIO and its lower-ABV Negroni Next, which sits at 10.8% ABV.
Not only does it have the same texture as the higher ABV original, but the legendary bitter top notes of Angostura, suffused with orange peel, clove, cherry, rhubarb and juniper aromatics, make it taste like it too.
It has been crafted by master mixologist Patrick Pistolesi with equal parts Tanqueray 0.0%, Cocchi Storico Vermouth di Torino, Campari and Angostura aromatic bitters, making it a stylish win-win cocktail with a thoroughly Italian heart.
Hoste Mezcal Negroni
This summer, Hoste added a third cocktail to its portfolio of ready-to-serve cocktails: a Negroni that pays tribute to rich Oaxacan flavours.
Hoste’s Mezcal Negroni is made with sweet vermouth, tamarind liqueur, and mole bitters. It comes with a custom orange citrus zest atomizer, and was created in collaboration with Pablo Jiménez, the mind behind the cocktail programme at Oaxacan restaurant Los Pacos.
Bottled at 35% ABV and priced at US$80, this Mezcal Negroni shows notes of roasted agave, earthy spices, and bright citrus. The mezcal comes from Paquera Mezcal, while the vermouth is a custom blend from Little City Vermouth in Finger Lakes, New York.
Tom Savano Negroni
This Negroni from travel-inspired RTD brand Tom Savano uses Salcombe Gin, Cocchi Torino, and Cocchi Amaro, for a rich, chocolate-cherry-esque Negroni that was designed around the idea of seafaring voyages.
Less sharp and Campari-forward than a traditional Negroni, this canned serve (also available in bottled format) shines a bit more spotlight on the vermouth, and gives the gin a boost too. It was the first recipe ever developed by the brand, and it’s been one of its top sellers for more than four years.
Black Cow Negroni
We love a Negroni that swerves traditions, and this bottled serve from English vodka brand Black Cow does just that.
Kicking the usual gin base spirit to the curb, this pre-mixed Black Cow Negroni is made with Black Cow’s pure milk vodka, Campari, vermouth and the brand’s own signature blend of bitters. It is recommended served over ice, garnished with a slice of blood orange, or as a Highball topped up with soda water. You could even top it with Prosecco to make your own version of a S’bagliato.
Bottled at 24% ABV, the Black Cow Negroni is available in 500ml bottles, priced at RRP £30.50 (US$39.90) direct from the brand’s website.
Campari bottled Negroni
If you’re a cocktail purist, you’ll know that you can’t really make a Negroni without Campari, so it would be pretty weird if the brand hadn’t capitalised on that. Luckily, the commercial team at Campari are on the ball, and have created the brand’s own 375ml bottle that is ready to pour over ice.
Campari said the drink was made using the same cocktail recipe from more than 100 years ago. According to the brand, the drink was envisioned by Count Negroni in 1919, who asked a bartender to add a touch of gin rather than soda to his Americano in honour of his last trip to London.
The expression is said to offer a mix of juniper, sweet citrus, spice, and herbal notes paired with a wormwood and bitter root finish.
Starward Whisky Negroni
Any bartender worth their arm garters will know that a Negroni made with whisky is actually called a Boulevardier, but we’ll let it slide for this particular ready-to-pour bottling from Australia’s Starward Distillery because its too good to be mad at.
Using a signature mixture of its award-winning whiskies, and carefully sourced, craft ingredients, the red-wine-barrel richness and juicy, fruity flavour makes this Negroni the true star of your next party. (In case you were wondering, this bottle contains enough for 14 serves, so don’t skimp on the invites).
