After three national heats at Vega in Glasgow, Side Street Studio in Manchester and the Burlock Rum Room in London, the winning teams descended on Dalston Rooftop in London on 24 July to battle it out in the live final and earn their prize of a trip to Saint Lucia.

The event was supported by chef SavJointz, DJ Lightning and the St Lucian Association of London.

At the end of the evening, Holly Raffill and Becky Malik, AKA the Scissor Sisters from Incipio Group in London, were crowned winners.

“We had a fantastic response across the UK with fun heats and a lively Saint Lucian final in London as we celebrated the island’s love of dominoes, paired with the flavoursome Bounty Rum range. It’s been great bringing the two together for the first time in the UK, and I look forward to hosting many more over the coming years,” said Dave Marsland, brand ambassador for St Lucia Distillers.

Dominoes is played all over the island of St Lucia, where local Bounty Rum can be found in every bar.

In the UK, the brand is distributed by premium spirits distributor Mangrove Global.

“This was an unbelievable evening, and we were able to bring light to dominoes, a game we probably all learned to play at some point in our childhood. It helped demonstrate to those in the hospitality trade that Bounty is here and how wickedly fun it is to play dominoes,” said Nick Gillett, MD of Mangrove Global.

“I’m so proud to be instilling this integral Saint Lucian tradition, and we intend to keep building our wonderful Saint Lucian and Caribbean community here in the UK, with more Bounty Rum events, especially around the Notting Hill Carnival.”

Bounty Rum will be partnering with M2K Mas Band and Saint Lucian Tourism Authority as well as various bars and venues during Notting Hill Carnival 2024, held 25-26 August.

Distilled in the Roseau Valley, one mile from the Caribbean Sea, Bounty rums are produced from start to finish in the island’s only distillery. The rum is made from molasses and displays ‘spiced vanilla, ripe sultana fruit and burnt coconut’ flavours.

Earlier this year, the Spirit of Saint Lucia cocktail competition, sponsored by Bounty Rum and Reàl Ingredients, was held in Miami, Chicago and New York.

The fourth and last instalment of the competition will be held at San Francisco Rum Festival on 1 September.
