Nemiroff and Southern Glazer’s take on Canada
Ukrainian vodka brand Nemiroff has struck a deal with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits to expand across Canada.
The partnership will allow Nemiroff to benefit from Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits Canada’s distribution network across the country. This includes more than 2,600 retail outlets and more than 4,000 on-trade venues.
From the start of the third quarter this year, numerous Nemiroff products – including De Luxe, The Inked Collection, and ultra-premium Lex by Nemiroff – will be available in all Canadian provinces.
“We are thrilled to work with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits to expand our high-quality vodkas into the Canadian market,” said Yuriy Sorochinskiy, CEO of Nemiroff. “This expansion aligns with our vision of delivering exceptional products to vodka enthusiasts worldwide and tapping into the growing demand for premium and super-premium vodkas in Canada.”
Flavoured vodkas have been growing in number in Canada recently, the vodka brand noted. The brand sees bars, restaurants and nightclubs as key occasions for vodka sales.
Doug Wieland, president and general manager of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits Canada, commented: “There is a clear trend towards premium and craft spirits, and we are confident that Nemiroff’s offerings will resonate well with the market.”
Sorochynskiy also added that educating consumers about consumption and mixology will be “crucial” for Nemiroff.
“We are delighted to enhance consumer knowledge and appreciation of premium spirits, helping to elevate the overall drinking experience,” he said. “This commitment will support the development of a vibrant and informed community of spirit enthusiasts in these new markets.”
Nemiroff was named The Vodka Brand Champion in The Brand Champions 2024 report. The annual supplement analyses the world’s biggest spirits brands, selling more than one million nine-litre cases annually.
At the start of the year, Nemiroff launched in India through a partnership with Amistad Spirits, furthering its ambition of becoming a top-five vodka.
