Master of Malt opens Clubman Trophy nominations
Wholesaler Master of Malt Trade is seeking to celebrate unsung heroes in the drinks industry via its new Clubman Trophy award.
Nominations for the Clubman Trophy are free and can be submitted online. Entrants will then be presented to a panel of judges.
The closing date for nominations is 29 April and the winner will be announced in May.
“We want to celebrate those quiet heroes who keep the wheels turning in businesses – to give a platform to those who are in the background and won’t usually get any type of recognition other than a pat on the back at the end of a shift,” said Liam Belton, trade lead at Master of Malt Trade.
The winner will receive a trophy and a rosette, as well as an overnight trip to the Copper Rivet Distillery in Kent, UK, with food, travel and accommodation costs covered.
Copper Rivet Distillery is situated in the centre of Chatham’s Historic Naval Dockyard.
The family-owned company was established in 2016, and is housed in the Grade II-listed Pumphouse No5.
In 2021, The Pumproom restaurant was opened, complete with a riverside terrace.
Earlier this month, Master of Malt Trade and The Spirits Business co-hosted the second webinar as part of the Master of Malt Trade Round Table Series.
Key takeaways from the panel discussion included not being too reactive to market trends, but instead remaining focused on the core proposition of your brand or product to achieve long-term success.
