ABK6 Cognac reveals fourth edition of Artist Collection
Family-owned ABK6 Cognac has revealed the fourth edition of its annual Artist Collection.
ABK6 Artist Collection was first introduced in 2019 to celebrate the alliance between art and Cognac, and showcase the talent of local artists.
The fourth release in the series features artwork by Audrey Sedano, a visual artist, illustrator and comic book author.
For the label, Sedano drew inspiration from the French region of Charente, its green vineyards, and the spirit’s character.
The expression is made from Ugni Blanc grapes from the Fins Bois and Petit Champagne crus of Cognac.
The eaux-de-vie was initially aged for six to eight months in new oak barrels and then transferred to old barrels for further ageing.
ABK6 Reserve Artist No.4 offers ‘intense and elegant aromas of apple, candied plum, cinnamon and vanilla’ on the nose, with ‘balanced woody notes’ on the palate.
The limited release is bottled at 40% ABV and is offered in a 700ml bottle.
The expression will be available in May 2024 at a retail price of €78 (US$83) on the official online store and at selected retail markets.
ABK6 was launched in 2005 by Francis Abecassis, who prides himself on producing single estate Cognac with grapes grown on the family’s vineyards on the banks of the Charente River.
Other brands from the Cognac producer include Leyrat, Reviseur and Grands Domaines.
Earlier this year, the brand launched a limited edition bottling to celebrate the Year of the Dragon.
In March 2024, ABK6 introduced its core range to the Jamaican market.
