Magnífica expands Swiss presence

Brazilian cachaça Magnífica de Faria has appointed Best Taste Trading as its distributor in Switzerland.

Founded in 1985 by João Luiz de Faria, Magnífica is produced in the mountains near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

It is a pot still cachaça, different to the industrial column still version of the spirit. The pot still cachaça category, known as ‘cachaça de alambique’, was officially recognised by the Brazilian government in 2023, the brand said.

Renato Wydler, managing director of Best Taste, said: “Magnífica de Faria is a perfect fit for our premium portfolio of spirits.

“We have been amazed by the quality and the depth of their range, which will be a perfect complement to our other premium cachaça, Germana, giving always more relevancy to the Brazilian rich cane spirit culture, terroirs and knowhow. We are very excited to bring the authentic Rio de Janeiro spirit to the bars of Switzerland.”

Magnífica is currently available in 15 European markets, including Portugal. The agreement with Best Trade will expand the brand’s presence in Switzerland nationwide.
