Glenglassaugh debuts 44YO single malt
Travel retail-exclusive Glenglassaugh 44 Years Old celebrates the 40th anniversary of Dubai Duty Free.
Brown-Forman-owned Glenglassaugh is a Highland Scotch whisky brand.
The single cask expression debuted at the end of December, with only 274 bottles available. It is bottled at 45.6% ABV and priced at US$6,600 (AED 23,760).
The whisky is part of the brand’s Serpentine Coastal Cask Collection and was exclusively matured in a Pedro Ximénez Sherry hogshead.
“This exclusive bottling is a sign of our trusting partnership,” David Rodiek, managing director, VP, global travel retail at Brown-Forman said. “Our selection of super premium spirits brands coupled with our focus on quality complement Dubai Duty Free’s commitment perfectly.”
The whisky boasts salted caramel, blood orange, and blueberry pastille on the nose, with cherry, almond, and mandarin orange balsamic on the palate. Pink grapefruit, star anise, and nori highlight the finish.
“We are delighted for the release of this special and exclusive single malt whisky to commemorate our 40th anniversary,” Sharon Beecham, senior vice president – purchasing, said. “It’s a testament to the partnership we share with Brown-Forman in bringing travel retail exclusives and rare collector’s items, which are limited in number, to our customers.”
Last year, Brown-Forman relaunched Glenglassaugh with a new trio of expressions and a coastal-inspired design.
