Friarwood to distribute Tromba Cedano
Drinks distributor Friarwood has added Tromba Cedano Tequila to its spirits portfolio.
Friarwood has distributed Tromba Tequila since November last year and is now bringing its Cedano expression to the UK.
Named after Tromba’s founder and master distiller Marco Cedano, the reposado Tequila is created through the ‘Cedano process’, which includes custom distilling, an ‘innovative’ agave resting technique, and ageing in French Limousin oak casks.
Ben Carfagnini, managing director at Friarwood, said: “It gives us immense pleasure to unveil Tromba Cedano, a remarkable expansion to our Tromba Tequila collection.
“This launch is a fitting tribute to a master’s lifelong commitment and artistry in tequila craftsmanship.”
Tromba Cedano has an ABV of 40%. It retails for £102 (US$129) for a 750ml bottle.
On the nose, the expression offers ‘vanilla and aged wood with a top note of caramelised agave’, complemented by ‘hints of cherry, soft florals, and a fresh citrus overtone’.
The palate has notes of ‘wood, dried fruit, vanilla, and toasted nuts’, with a ‘sweet, delicately roasted agave finish’.
Earlier this month Friarwood announced it was to distribute Tromba’s coffee liqueur, Cafeto.
Friarwood was established in 1967 and previously dealt exclusively in wine, but the brand moved into premium spirits in 2023.
Since the move, it has become the UK distributor for Tequila Tromba, Portuguese aperitivo Per Se, Venezuelan rum Ron Carúpano and German vodka Sash & Fritz.
