Deadline nears for The Rum & Cachaça Masters 2024
There’s just one week left to enter The Rum & Cachaça Masters 2024 blind-tasting competition.
Chaired by The Spirits Business and a panel of independent, leading spirits specialists, the competition is looking to reward the finest rums and cachaças from around the world.
The entry deadline will close next week on Friday 26 January, and samples will be needed by Friday 2 February.
Judging will take place in early February, where Silver, Gold and Master medals will be bestowed upon the most deserving entries.
The Master winners will then be judged for the overall title of Rum & Cachaça Taste Master 2024.
New categories have been added to The Rum & Cachaça Masters 2024 due to recent changes to cachaça regulations.
Cachaça de alambique is now recognised as its own category in the industry – and now has its own segment in the annual blind-tasting competition.
The new denomination stands for ‘pot still cachaça’, differing from column still-made products. Brands can enter their products under the Cachaça de Alambique section according to the following subcategories: Unaged, Aged Up to 3 Years, Aged 4-7 Years, Aged 8 Years and Above.

Alternatively, you can enter online via The Global Spirits Masters Competitions website.
The last Rum & Cachaça Masters took place in February 2023.
