NBA player Duncan Robinson backs Desolas mezcal
As part of its latest investment round from friends and family, mezcal brand Desolas has received funding from NBA star Duncan Robinson.
The financial backing from Robinson will close the latest friends-and-family round of investment.
Robinson, who currently plays for the Miami Heat team, shared his excitement about his involvement. He said: “I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be aligned with such a high-quality product and team.

Female-founded Desolas is handcrafted from 100% Salmiana agave in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and is said to have a low-botanical smoke flavour with notes of citrus and pepper, and an ‘elegant finish of vanilla’.

As it accelerates its growth in the US this year, Desolas has also partnered with steakhouse Fogo de Chão, with venues in the Hamptons, and with Florida-based bar and restaurant chain Tap 42. In August, it made its Canadian debut.
Furthermore, Desolas won a Gold medal for its Blanco expression at The Tequila & Mezcal Masters 2023. The award was collected in the 100% Agave Mezcal – Joven – Artisinal – Salmiana heat, where the mezcal was praised for notes of “dark sugar, apple and pear”.
