Agitator whisky distributor Charter Brands has received the Kings’ Award for Enterprise – International Trade.

The award is “testament” to the hard work of the team, the managing director said

Charter Brands has won the commercial prize for having grown its business globally, with 95% of revenue and case sales delivered from international markets. It is open to UK businesses only.

“Recognition of this magnitude from our home market is an honour and something that makes the entire team incredibly proud,” said Matt Aston-Melia, managing director at Charter Brands.

“It’s testament to the hard work, dedication, knowledge and passion the Charter Brands team employs around the world and with our partner brands.

“This impressive award comes at an exciting time for the company. We’re growing at pace, and going from strength to strength in the international spirits sector.”

In the last year, the team has developed ‘positive relationships’ and secured ‘lucrative business’ in Australia, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Hong Kong and Thailand. To mark the achievement, the Charter Teams team will attend a royal reception hosted by one of King Charles II’s representatives later this month.

The company will also receive a Grant of Appointment (official certificate) and a commemorative crystal trophy.

Charter Brands will be able to use the King’s Award emblem and accolade across its marketing channels for the next five years.

The award follows a series of accomplishments for the company this year, with the firm growing the footprint of Langley’s Gin in Greece, and securing a significant presence for the brand in France and Uruguay.

Charter Brands has also launched El Tequileño Tequila in Australia and Spain, and agreed to distribute single malt whisky Agitator on a global basis.
