The English gin brand has big ambitions to succeed in France

The English gin brand will expand across France via distributor L’Explorateur du Goût, which looks after spirits such as Amares Mezcal, The Lost Distillery, Hyde Whiskey and Codigo 1530 Tequila.

Matt Ashton-Melia, owner of Langley’s Gin, said: “Liquid quality is paramount to any brand entering the L’Explorateur du Goût portfolio and so we are delighted that François [Sommer, owner of L’Explorateur du Goût], and his team have concluded that Langley’s is a brand that they feel confident they can develop and establish in the French market.

“We’re confident that our competitive and commercial offering, combined with the uncompromising liquid quality and responsible approach to evolving the Langley’s brand, most noticeably in becoming a certified B Corporation stands us in great stead to make a sizeable impact in the French gin market.”

The gin brand aims to be the most sustainable, yet accessible gin brand in the French market.

Langley’s Gin’s portfolio includes Langley’s London Dry, Old Tom, and First Chapter.

Sommer added: “In France, the gin category remains very dynamic, but at the same time it is becoming saturated, particularly in the ultra-premium segment.

“With Langley’s we have been immediately convinced by the quality of the brand, which offers a great and very elegant taste experience while remaining very accessible to gin amateurs.

“We have also found a partner who shares our values and engagement in terms of sustainability, and we are convinced that this partnership will be very positive for both our companies.”

In December last year, Langley’s Gin made its debut in Uruguay via distributor Lidewen.
