Licor 43 debuts Coco Milk RTD

Zamora Company has expanded its Licor 43 ready-to-drink (RTD) range with a coconut milk-based variant to attract vegans.

The 10% ABV Coco Milk is available in Germany’s off-trade

Cocktail 43 Coco Milk is a fusion of Licor 43’s flagship liqueur and coconut milk.

The new variant joins Cocktail 43 Milk and a coffee-flavoured RTD in the German-exclusive range.

The new expression offers a dairy-free version of Cocktail 43 Milk to tap into the consumer demand for coconut milk products and vegan options, the brand said.

Licor 43 and milk is the brand’s most popular serve in Germany, according to the Kantar Brand Health Tracker survey in June 2022.

“We’re also aware that coconut milk options are hugely popular and that the vegan trend is strong,” said Oliver Svatek, global brand director.

“Recent research in this market shows not only a 29% increase [Statista consumer market insights report, July 2022] in sales of vegan drink products but also that 40% of consumers favour coconut milk above all else.”

The new expression is described as having a ‘light creamy texture’ and combines ‘fresh coconut tones with the sweet and citrus nuance of Licor 43’.

The 10% ABV product is best served chilled straight from the 250ml can.

Cocktail 43 Coco Milk will be available in the German off-trade with an RRP of €2.89 (US$3.20).

The Spanish liqueur celebrated its 75th birthday in 2021 and recently become a million-case brand.

It is made from a ‘secret family recipe’ of 43 ingredients including Mediterranean citrus fruits and botanicals.

Licor 43 will host the final of this year’s Bartenders & Baristas Challenge in Madrid, after three years in Gran Canaria.
