Sir Edmond Gin debuts Academy Portal

Dutch brand Sir Edmond Gin has launched an online academy portal featuring a series of videos on the history and craft of its products.

Sir Edmond
The online academy portal presents four chapters detailing the brand’s history and craft

Presented in four chapters, the portal addresses various aspects of the firm, and covers topics including the production process, the value and versatility of vanilla in the spirits market, cocktail recipes, and more.

Co-founder Dominique Makatita said: “Throughout the years we have talked to a lot of industry experts and have learned a lot from their decades of experience. In our opinion we have translated their valuable feedback into one of our newest tools.

“We’ve conducted this new online tool for the teams of our distribution partners, as well as interested people form the on- and off-trade field, which helps them convince industry experts and professionals when talking about gin and introducing Sir Edmond Gin. This international new tool is called The Sir Edmond Gin Academy Portal.”

The course is designed for spirits enthusiasts, drinks professionals and new-starters in the industry.

After registering, participants have access to educational, instructional, and technical materials to help them discover and develop their knowledge of the gin category and Sir Edmond Gin.

Chapter one explores the gin category, covering the history and origin of the spirit, while chapter two looks into what makes Sir Edmond Gin ‘unique’, delving into its tasting notes, production process, and the nature of Bourbon vanilla.

Chapter three demonstrates how to best use the gin in serves, and chapter four presents the six best practices to help bar managers integrate Bourbon vanilla into their menus, drink strategy, and merchandising.

A short quiz at the end of each chapter tests participants’ knowledge.

Each participant is rewarded with a personal gift after completing the course. Each video has a transcript and subtitles in multiple languages available.

In the past 12 months, the brand has launched in Poland, Canada, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Denmark and France.
