Memento debuts alcohol-free cocktail contest

Italian alcohol-free ‘spirit’ Memento has launched the ‘world’s first’ non-alcoholic cocktail competition, called Less is More.

Entrants must submit a cocktail using 50ml from the brand’s range

The competition will challenge bartenders to create original alcohol-free cocktail recipes.

“Less is More is a very exciting opportunity for bartenders to show their skills,” said Eugenio Muraro, CEO and founder. “Drinking does not necessarily mean drinking alcohol and it is fundamental today to be able to meet every customer’s needs and preferences.”

The competition is open for entries until 20 December 2022.

The cocktails must be made up of five or less ingredients with 0.00 % ABV.

Each entry must contain at least 50ml of Memento, Memento Green or Memento Blue.

The judges will select eight recipes to go through to the next round.

The top four recipes will be selected to go through to the final via an online survey published on the brand’s website between 27 December and 13 January 2023.

The four shortlisted entrants will participate in the final competition, which will take place in Milan, Italy, on 30 January 2023 at The Stage – Octavius Bar.

The brand’s Blue bottling is the third expression in the alcohol-free ‘spirit’ range, following the flagship ‘spirit’ and Memento Green, which was launched in 2019.

Memento Blue grabbed a Gold medal in this year’s Low & No Masters blind-tasting competition.
