Tom Savano moves into canned cocktails

Premium ready-to-drink (RTD) brand Tom Savano has launched a canned cocktail collection to sit alongside its pre-mixed range of bottled serves.

The Amalfi Sundowner Negroni is made with Devon gin, vintage Italian vermouth, and herbal amaro

The move into canned expressions allows for customers to enjoy the brand’s portfolio of cocktails ‘anywhere they choose’.

The signature collection is composed of six cocktails including the Caribbean Island Mai Tai, Brazilian Sunset Passionfruit Martini, and the Amalfi Sundowner Negroni.

Also featured is the Miami Pool Tommy’s Margarita, Riviera Daydream Raspberry Gin Gimlet, and Havana Beachfront Mojito.

James Kerslake, founder of Tom Savano, commented: “Since the very first time Tom Savano came to me as an idea, it has always been about an aspirational traveller and bon-vivant, an explorer who appreciates true quality and authenticity.

“Being able to bring that attitude into an easy-to-access and portable version of these cocktails without compromising on quality is the natural next step for the brand. Since launching these cans, I can’t put them down.”

Tom Savano cocktails are handcrafted using artisan spirits and ingredients, and are recommended served straight from the can or served over ice.

The cans are available in two sizes: the signature range at 125ml, which sit at 15% ABV, and the long pour range at 250ml, which rest at 8% ABV.

Both canned cocktail collections feature the brand’s portfolio of classic cocktails.

In addition, Tom Savano’s long pour cocktail range includes a Mojito and a Tommy’s Margarita, alongside a spiced Picante Margarita made with Scotch bonnet chilli, and the Raspberry Gin Gimlet.

The signature cans are available in packs of six or 12 cans, or as a mixed tasting pack of six in Tom’s Signature Canned Pocket Cocktail Collection.

The long pour cocktails are available to purchase in packs of six or 12 cans, or in Tom’s Long Pour Canned Cocktail Selection.

Signature packs are offered at an RRP of £20 (US$23.67) for six, while the long-pour packs start from £14 (US$16.57).

In-flight partnership

The launch is accompanied by the extension of the brand’s existing partnership with Virgin Atlantic.

After trialling the brand’s bottled cocktails as part of the Upper Class experience onboard the A350 Leisure aircrafts, Virgin Atlantic will now offer Tom Savano’s new RTD canned cocktails across the airline’s entire fleet.

Virgin Atlantic passengers will be able to order a canned Mojito onboard

“It was always my dream one day to see these cocktails on an airline, being enjoyed by other travellers as they set out on their journey to discover new and beautiful places around the world,” Kerslake continued.

“Words can’t express how excited I am to be continuing our partnership with Virgin Atlantic and bringing the story and drinks of Tom Savano to an even bigger audience at 30,000 feet.”

Once onboard, travellers will be able to enjoy a choice of two Tom Savano canned cocktails: the 250ml classic Mojito, and the 125ml Amalfi Sundowner Negroni.

Shiada Drysdale, manager of inflight services food and beverage, beverage lead at Virgin Atlantic, added: “Virgin Atlantic will stock Tom Savano cocktails on its entire fleet travelling to 27 destinations across four continents, with onward connections to over 200 cities around the world.

“Customers flying on Virgin Atlantic’s A350 Leisure aircrafts to and from Orlando in Upper Class will also be able to book a Tom Savano experience in The Booth, where they will experience the Caribbean Dawn Mai Tai and the Single-Estate Reposado Tommy’s Margarita.”

In other in-flight news, canned cocktail brand Moth recently partnered with British Airways to serve its RTD Margarita on all short-haul flights to and from UK airports.

Earlier this year, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds also joined forces with the British airline to make Aviation Gin available to order pre-flight through British Airway’s Speedbird Café.
