Tobago Gold, a chocolate rum liqueur made with Caribbean spices, will be available in the Baltics through Latvia-based Stream Distribution.

Valts Ermansons, managing director of Stream Distribution, said the brand has “great potential” in the Baltic region.

“While price remains an important factor, consumers here are becoming more knowledgeable and demand higher quality,” Ermansons said. “Tobago Gold has a great quality and pricing ratio.

“In addition, consumers have become more attentive toward lower sugar and fat content in their drinks – Tobago Gold is an undeniable leader in its category.”

The brand will also enter the Swiss market via Rhums & Spirits, and Armenia through Alpha Food Service. It will also be sold in Portugal through family-owned company Honest Dragon.

The liqueur is also available to consumers in the brand’s home market of Trinidad and Tobago, the UK, Germany, Canada (Ontario), the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark and Iceland.

“Tobago Gold’s innovative concept continues to attract distribution partners around Europe and beyond as we’ve had a surge of interest in the past several months,” said Helena Zakmane, global commercial director.

“Since August 2022, we have started shipping our Chocolate Rum Cream to the UK, Baltics, Portugal, Switzerland, and Armenia.”

Launched by Lars Söderström in 2020, the liqueur (17% ABV) is a blend of rum, Trinitario and Criollo cocoa, and spices.

The brand recently secured ‘substantial’ financial backing from two businessmen.

Last summer, Tobago Gold secured its first equity investment from a Portugal-based backer.
