Clase Azul opens luxury travel experience

Premium Tequila brand Clase Azul México has opened the doors to its luxury experience and boutique Los Cabos, located in San José Cabo, Mexico.

The launch of the new Día de Muertos Colores decanter accompanies the Los Cabos announcement

Clase Azul Los Cabos is the first luxury travel experience under the brand’s new hospitality arm, Clase Azul Destinations, which has launched to offer unique spaces where the brand will come to life through ‘extraordinary experiences’. It comprises a restaurant, bar, omakase experience and boutique.

“We exist to captivate the world through the magic of Mexican culture, and our distillates are just the beginning,” said Arturo Lomeli, founder of Clase Azul México. “We want to create spaces where our brand comes to life.”

Inspired by the encounter between land and ocean, Clase Azul Los Cabos incorporates its natural surroundings to complement a fully sensorial, contemporary and welcoming space, which will include the Clase Azul El Bar. The dedicated Tequila and mezcal bar offers guests an ‘adventure through mixology’.

Head mixologist Sheila Zenteno has created a menu of cocktails from a selection of the brand’s spirits, and has been inspired by delicacies unique to the region of La Baja.

The destination also includes a newly re-imagined boutique which offers a ‘rich and intimate experience’ where guests have the opportunity to acquire the brand’s ‘iconic’ releases, as well as rare, limited edition bottlings and decanters not available elsewhere.

In addition to the boutique at Clase Azul Los Cabos, the experience will follow guests home with the opening of the new Clase Azul Boutique on the international departures floor of Terminal 2 of Los Cabos International Airport.

New decanters

The opening of Clase Azul Los Cabos is part of the brand’s ongoing 25th anniversary celebrations, which saw the launch of a limited edition decanter in July this year.

The silver-plated ornament featured on the limited edition decanter took 12 days to make

The brand has now announced the launch of its new Día de Muertos Limited Edition Colores decanter ahead of the national celebration on 2 November.

The limited edition roll-out consists of 6,500 decanters made available worldwide, and is the second in a series of Tequilas and decanters dedicated to highlighting the elements that make Día de Muertos a unique celebration.

The decanter is graced by an intricate, silver-plated ornament, hand-painted by Mexican artisans which took approximately 12 days to make.

The liquid within has been created by master distiller Viridiana Tinoco using a unique ageing process in order to create the special añejo Tequila. It has been aged for 22 months in American whisky casks and finished over the course of six months in artisanal rum barrels from the island of Martinique.

It is available globally at selected retailers for US$1,050.
