Sir Edmond Gin enters Slovakia
By Nicola CarruthersDutch brand Sir Edmond Gin has expanded its presence in Europe with a new distribution deal in Slovakia.
The gin brand has teamed up with Svet Nápojov, one of Slovakia’s leading spirits distributors, founded in 1993.
“We are really excited to have the delicious and fast-growing brand Sir Edmond Gin on board,” said Jozef Maras, portfolio brand manager, Svet Nápojov.
“Their flavour profile with Bourbon vanilla at the heart of their liquid is so disruptive within the gin category, that we strongly believe we can make an impact within the competitive gin category.”
According to Sir Edmond, the company has a ‘significant’ presence in the market, with the distributor also operating its own stores and an e-commerce platform.
Dominique Makatita, co-founder of the gin brand, added: “As a distribution partner they tick all the boxes: from supplying the wholesale, on-trade and off-trade, to running the number one e-commerce platform in the country as well as their own shops.
“I’m excited about the fast route to market and about bringing our Bourbon vanilla deliciousness to the Slovakian consumers.”
Sir Edmond said the year 2022 marks a ‘definitive breakthrough’ for the company in Europe, having secured new distribution partnerships in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece and Hungary.
The gin was inspired by the founders’ desire for a gin that was both “unique and versatile”. The founders took inspiration from the way Michelin star chefs use Bourbon vanilla from the Madagascar and Réunion islands in their cooking.
