Ginato Gin partners with Gino D’Acampo

Italian gin brand Ginato has appointed TV chef Gino D’Acampo as its maestro del gusto (master of flavour).

Italian chef Gino D’Acampo will create food recipes to pair with the Ginato Gin range

The partnership will see D’Acampo create Italian food recipes to pair with Ginato cocktails. He will also work with the team to develop new Ginato Gin variants and releases over the coming years.

“My homeland has always shaped not only the way I cook but also what I eat and drink,” says D’Acampo. “Italians have a passion for great quality produce, and this is everything that Ginato Gin embodies.

“It is important for me to work with brands that are authentic and complement my style of food. Ginato Gin is an interesting concept, especially with the addition of the Pinot Grigio grape. This innovation as well as the superb taste is what attracted me to working with the brand.”

The gin is produced using Pinot Grigio grapes, selected from the wine-growing regions of Friuli in the north of Italy. The juniper is sourced from Tuscany and the citrus is picked in the warmer climate of southern Italy.

The Ginato range includes its original Classico Pinot Grigio Gin, made with a blend of grape and grain spirit, and combined with Sicilian lemons to create a ‘crisp, citrus-forward’ gin. The three additional expressions are: Ginato Melograno, made with pomegranate; Ginato Clementino, which uses clementine oranges; and Ginato Pompelmo, made with pink grapefruit.

All gins are offered at 43% ABV and are priced at £28 (US$33.45) per 700ml bottle.

The Ginato range is developed and distributed internationally by Kirker Greer Spirits.

Steven Pattison, CEO of Drinksology Kirker Greer, said: “The Ginato range encapsulates a true Italian spirit and without a doubt, Gino D’Acampo is the perfect fit for the brand.

“Having the calibre of Gino D’Acampo join us at Ginato, with his expert knowledge of Italian flavour and ingredients, it is a really exciting time for the development of the brand.

“We can’t wait to share his great enthusiasm for Ginato Gin and his love of everything Italian with consumers across the UK in the coming months and years ahead.’’

Ginato Italian Gin has launched in more than 22 countries including the UK, Ireland, Germany, Israel, South Africa and Australia.

Kirker Greer recently expanded its team and named ex-Dead Rabbit bartender Peter Moore as global educator and ambassador across its portfolio, as well as Matt Bell as its operations manager.

Duty Free Global was appointed as Kirker Greer Spirits’ global travel retail partner in October 2021.
